The game was initially announced during Sony's "Future of Gaming" online presentation on 11 June 2020, with a release window of 2021. Set in a world of anthropomorphic dinosaur characters, the game centers on the members of the band VVorm Drama the non-binary lead vocalist Fang ( Lachlan Watson), guitarist Trish ( Ozioma Akagha) and drummer Reed (Mark Whitten), alongside the school's student council president Naomi (Allegra Clark) and Fang's brother Naser (Abe Bueno-Jallad), - as they venture through the highs and lows of their final year as Volcano High seniors with graduation looming over the horizon while coming to terms with their own impending extinction from an asteroid. The game features narrative segments, and rhythm minigames during performances by VVorm Drama. The game is scheduled for release on 29 August 2023, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows. The final release will have all these things, but since the demo scenes were forked so long ago, it's hard to update demos with all the new changes when the team is working on finalizing the game.Goodbye Volcano High is an upcoming narrative adventure game developed and published by Montreal-based video game studio KO_OP. This demo was originally made for Tribeca (and our last one was for PAX East) all the way back in March! So a lot of bug fixes, audio, and polish are missing. We know some players are frustrated by this so we really apologize for the inconvenience, but don't worry, the final game will have full keyboard functionality! The demo requires a controller to play. And the asteroid finally makes its introduction! □ While there isn’t rhythm gameplay in this demo, there are two minigames. This demo features the end of Episode 1 as well as the first five scenes of Episode 2.In that demo, there were two rhythm gameplay sequences and one minigame. Our first demo premiered on Steam for LudoNarraCon 2023 and featured the first 4 scenes of Goodbye Volcano High. Some notes on this demo for those who didn’t play it when it came out! Coming off Tribeca and Steam Next Fest, we wanted to keep our demo up so that anyone who missed out gets a chance to play it! A little update as to the GVH store page.
